Terms of Sale – Event Tickets

These Terms of Sale apply to all event ticket purchases made through the Seroto platform. By purchasing tickets, you agree to these terms. These terms comply with the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act 68 of 2008).

Important: Please read these terms carefully before purchasing. If you do not agree, do not complete your purchase.

1. Seller and Pricing

1.1 Tickets are sold by Seroto on behalf of event organisers. The price displayed at the time of purchase is the inclusive price you will pay.

1.2 All prices are in Seroto points (virtual currency). Points are purchased separately via the Seroto app.

1.3 The ticket price, event details, venue, date, and time are clearly displayed before you confirm purchase.

2. Payment and Confirmation

2.1 Payment is made using Seroto points. You must have sufficient points in your account before purchase.

2.2 Purchase is confirmed when you receive a confirmation and your tickets appear in your account. A unique QR code is generated for each ticket.

2.3 You may purchase up to 10 tickets per event per user, unless otherwise stated.

3. Refund Policy (CPA Compliant)

3.1 Refund Period

You may request a refund if you submit your request at least 7 days before the event start date. Refunds are not available within 7 days of the event.

3.2 Eligibility

  • Tickets must be unused (not scanned or marked as used)
  • Tickets must be in active status
  • Refund must be requested within the refund window

3.3 Refund Process

Refunds are processed through the Seroto app. Request a refund by selecting the tickets you wish to refund. Refunded amounts are credited to your Seroto points balance.

3.4 Event Cancellation

If an event is cancelled by the organiser, you will receive a full refund of the points paid for your tickets, regardless of the refund window.

3.5 No Refund

Refunds are not available for tickets that have been used or for requests made within 7 days of the event.

4. Your Rights

Under the Consumer Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • Clear and accurate information about the event and tickets
  • Fair and honest dealing
  • Fair and reasonable terms and conditions
  • Fair value, good quality, and safety
  • Fair and responsible marketing

5. Event Changes

5.1 If the event date, time, or venue is changed by the organiser, we will notify you. You may request a refund if the change is material and you cannot attend.

5.2 Seroto is not responsible for events cancelled or rescheduled by organisers. Refunds for cancelled events are processed as described in section 3.4.

6. Ticket Use

6.1 Each ticket is valid for one admission. Present your QR code at the venue for scanning.

6.2 Tickets are non-transferable unless otherwise stated. Do not share your QR code.

6.3 You must be of legal age to attend events where age restrictions apply.

7. Complaints

If you have a complaint about your ticket purchase or refund, contact us at info@seroto.org. We will respond within 5 business days.
